you say 'without having a job' - do you mean working for an employer?
If so, become self-employed - start your own business, set your own
agenda.
When I was in Australia many young Aussies worked 'for the Government' -
i.e., on benefits. I though this was so sad as I had always thought of
Australians as tough go-getters. There are so many opportunities in Oz
- look around and see what you can do as regards your own business.

Don't
know about Australia but... I also set out on this very noble quest for
a while. In america, when you're 18 and fit certain requirements, you
can sign up to do medical case studies. The need healthy patients for
the control. I don't really recommend it, It can screw you up something
awful. BUT! You can lay in a bed for a week or two playing video games.
The one I did three years ago paid out $2000 for two weeks. Good luck on
finding something.
