send money to make money, illegal? URGENT?
I
replied to ad on Gumtree (free ad posting site in Australia), basically
they were looking for Couriers for part time job (about 1-2 hrs a day)
and so i accepted. After giving away my personal details as well as my
bank details to them, I was given my very first job today
As a courier I received about $5k USD into my bank account, and asked me
to withdraw that amount of money and send each $2500 USD to two people
from Russia via Western Union. They said in the email "I sold out 4
laptops at the auction and I need your help to pay off to my customer
from Russia" and then they go If WU operator ask me about the reason of
my transfer say "for personal purposes only and not any kind of business
or illegal activity"
I cleared about $200 USD (which is more than average day worth of job)
for my part of the job. That amount of money for such a simple job
(sending money to 2 clients overseas) something tells me they upto no
good.. His number is on private when calls me
my question is if somthing does go wrong will I be sent to jail even
thou I saved all our interactions on email as evidence?

your kinda dumb arent you?
2 :
First
of all you sound like you fell for a scam, and really don't understand
how the internet works. Bottom line is it sounds like you are involved
in a money laundering business, and yes that is illegal. My
recommendation is to stop doing what you are doing and go ahead and give
the local law enforecement a call....maybe they can help you out!
NO one would ask you to transfer that much money, even as a new client
in a real/legal business.
3 :
Basically what just happened
is you've had your identity stolen. 99.99...% of the time, you're
dealing with a very real looking, fake check. Before you try doing
something like this, did you think to make sure the place of origin
existed? Time to go and have things changed...
Was there a sequential address? (1234 Example Street, ______vill IL)
4 :
It's
a scam and you are the fall guy.
The check that was deposited to your account is likely forged. And when
that is discovered, you will be on the hook for the forgery and the
money. If you have not yet sent the money out, don't. Tell your
"employer" you are waiting for the bank to verify the check or deposit.
That should make him unhappy.
The plan of the "employer" is to get you to send his cohorts money
before it's discovered that the deposit is fake.
Go to your bank and tell them what happened. Now. Do not wait. Ask them
to close that account immediately. Expect them to call in the police.
That's what you want to happen, even if it will be initially not
pleasant. Any of your own money in your account may end up gone. If
you do not go to the authorities immediately yourself, you will probably
be looking at criminal charges and possibly jail or prison. Yes, it's
that serious.
You are expected to know that something like this is a cover for some
sort of illegal activities. None of the emails you saved will be of
much use to you, since such things are easily counterfeited also. You do
not have a real name or number of any person. So you will be the one on
the hook.
You've given out your personal information and bank information to
crooks. Expect this to be a big problem for you.
If something seems too good to be true, it is.
5 :
As the
others have said, this is illegal.
However, what they are doing is rather different, I would suggest, to
what the previous answers have said.
There are two possible cons going on here:-
1 - They have sold some items on ebay or similar have taken the money
and will not send the buyer any goods. The buyer has paid his money
into YOUR bank account. Guess who he will be coming after to recover
his money.
2 - Much more worrying from your point of view. These people have got
hold of someone's internet banking details and have stolen this money
from them and transferred it into your account. You then very kindly
send it off to some unidentifiable person in another country. In this
case, as soon as the person realises that he has had his money stolen
the police will be alerted and it will be a simple case of tracking the
payment to YOUR account and then very shortly after that the police will
be knocking on YOUR door asking YOU lots of questions.

Why do governments spend more money to find, buy n improve technology to kill people than to make them live?
Why do governments spend more money to find, buy n improve technology to kill people than to make them live?
Whn ppl are dieing of hunger, of diseases, why does the US, CANADA, UK, CHINA, AUSTRALIA, JAPAN, VENEZULA, RUSSIA and all countries of this world where “people†of the same human race live invest for guns, warships etc. to kill and draw blood of their own race speaking a different language, religion or skin color. Is it wrth it? Why do we do it? Why do we have to let this continue? Ppl die without food, without medicine. Isn’t it time we undrstnd? Why can’t we all be like brothers and sisters and share this world together? Would it ever happen and when do we decide to make the change? Humans breathe, they eat, laugh, cry, love, understand, hate, forgive. Every human lvng and dead has done so at least 1’ce in their lives. Why can’t we make a change and for change make humanity #1? Spend so that ppl get to live longer, happily with all their material, social and spiritual needs satisfied? Why does medicare comes at a cost and bullets to heads for free? Is violence the wepon to quell violence? If I'm in a different opinion, is elimination the answer? What has happened to compassion? I don't want to foreget 9/11 but how many people killed would capture osama? Are we really there yet? Is this working? Is the world any safer? At least a bit? Now are the freaking terrorist not trying to behead others anymore? Have we stopped them? Are we effective? Am I asking too many questions? I don't belive that once osama's stopped the world would become any safer at all. I think if we try more compassion and love, kindness, forgiveness, we might stop the violence. Love and peace comes only bythemselve... through love and peace. No gun is powerful enough to bring peace on earth, no technology advance to do the trick. Peace is a decision we have to make, at heart, in action. Is billions and billions of dollars on medicare and many more on killing an answer or an illusion?....

Couple of things. (a) Some of the nations where innocent people are dying from hunger, disease, etc., have been screwed by their own government. Foreign nations have given them food, water, money, etc. Ay, but this never makes it to the people. Instead, governments have used the food and water to feed their army, money to buy themselves private jets, etc. So, its their own fault for letting their people die. Not ours. So stop asking for so much money! (b) At what cost does this come to us? You are talking about lending out an insane amount of money worldwide, enough to change how we live ourselves. Not every nation is as well off or as rich as it seems. Every nation has a debt, and its not everyones fault. Blame the rich! They are the ones getting richer, while the poor get poorer. (c) World is constantly at war. There seemingly is one threat after another of an impending war, and the only way to survive is to arm yourself. (d) Sadly, it makes better news. More people are keen on hearing about war, military, violence, and all that stuff, then good humanitarian acts.

How can I make an Australian vacation at my house?
How can I make an Australian vacation at my house?
I don't have enough time, or money to go to Australia so what are some places I could go online that shows pictures or videos of oceans at Australia? And what are some things I could do at my house to make it seem more like Australia? Thanks!

O thats too bad! Well I could give you a link to a website we use a lot when we travel. We posted all our Australia pictures there so take a look. www.yukiba.com Things to make your house feel more like australia would include: 1 Print some of the pictures and buy frames to cheer up your house 2 You could look up some typical Australian music artists and download there music 3 Collect some shells, it doesn't matter where they're from and put them in little vases 4 Buy a Lonely Planet of Australia and drop it between your magazines:) 5 Buy a world map, hang it on your wall ( the one they sell at IKEA is awesome) and pin all your little flags on Australia! 6 Take surf lessons or try other sport activities, Australiens love sport 7 Order cute souvenir items on Ebay 8 Watch a lot of National Geographic documenteries they are often recorden in Australia 9 Download other television programmes or Australian movies 10 Buy Australian Wine, its really good and makes you feel a little bit on a holiday. Hope this works!

Things to make home seem more like Australia. 1. Have a pool party and Barbecue with beach towels, board shorts, Aussie meat pies, sausages and prawns (we don't have shrimp here) - and don't forget the coloured zinc cream for nose and face. 2. Keep plenty of Vegemite and Tim Tams in the pantry for every meal. Serve Pavlova for desserts. 3. Play music from bands such as: Men at Work, Jet, Australian Crawl, Cold Chisel, Jimmy Barnes, Olivia Newton John, John Farnham or even AC/DC (if you really want to annoy the neighbours). 4. Hang pictures of Australian outback panoramas or use Australian art painted by Ken Done, Aboriginals (make sure its genuine), Pro Hart. Use poster prints by classic Australian artists such as Nolan, Whitely, Streeton, Boyd, Drysdale, Dobell, Namitjira. 5. Display classic Australian artifacts - such as: a ceramic outback "outhouse" or Pub (bar), didgeridoo, boomerangs, stuffed toys (kangaroos, koalas, wombats).

Hey, it is a shame you can't come and holiday here as Australia is such a beautiful place. It is summer here at the moment, so the first thing you could do which we are all doing over here at the moment is have a summer BBQ with some sausages, steaks and burgers. (we don't do shrimp, even though somehow that became the saying!) We have salads with that, like potato salad and coleslaw. For dessert we follow it with cheesecake and pavlova. In Australia we sometimes have lamington drives though the schools. They are basically sponge cake squares with jam (jelly) in the middle and then covered in a type of chocolate mixture and rolled in coconut. They are absolutely delish, and many Aussies have fond memories of lammies growing up. You can get the recipe from www.recipezaar.com for free. Probably one of our most famous landscape photographers over here is Ken Duncan. You can look at and order some of his prints from www.kenduncan.com. We don't have a huge movie industry over here so most of our homegrown movies stink. However some of the more popular ones are The Castle and Muriels wedding. Kath and Kim (our version) and Summer Heights High were also pretty popular over here although many people find our humour a little hard to get! In terms of what we wear, well I guess it is pretty laid back and summery at the moment. Most of the girls are in short shorts and tshirts with thongs (the kind you wear on your feet, I think you call them flip flops) Our national Australia day is on 26th of Jan, so that might be a good day to celebrate your Australia day. We have fireworks and parades in pretty much every town in Australia. On this day my friends and I always have a BBQ and then go to the beach and watch the fireworks off the pier. They have rides at the local park and we put Aussie flag tattoos on and wear Aussie tees or thongs. I am sure you will probably find some coming up to Australia day. I guess you could always decorate your place with the stereotypical kangaroos, koalas wombats etc. At the BBQ you must drink beer. It would be un Australian not too. You must also put a stubby holder over your beer can!! Some typical Aussie music you could play at your BBQ would be Jimmy Barnes, Cold Chisel, Midnight Oil, Silverchair, Eskimo Joe, Inxs. I think there is a cd you can get and it is called Aussie beer songs. All this stuff I am sure you could get on eBay.com.au. good luck with it all, I will be sure to edit this post if I can think of some more stuff to add.

You may sell youre car once youre approaching the summer. If you sell your car may you have an alternate transportation during the mean time. If you were to sell your car then you could save more money because Insurance and Diesel wont be taking up a chunk. As well cut down on currect expenses for right now limit from being new clothes and eating out. If youd ecide to sell your car then at the end you will know how much money you have left to earn therefore you may either sell some old stuff in a garaga sale that you no longer need or are using. Good Luck!

not much you can do at that age. try baby sitting. there's plenty of parents looking for babysitters around their neighborhood

dont believe to stefiny and rayna,,,,,, theyre just advertisement...' dont waste ur tym viewing those sites

Depending on the laws in Australia you probably can't do more then babysitting. Here in the U.S. you can't get a real job till your 16. I would say its probably the same in Australia so you likely to only get babysitting jobs at 14.

Are there any good paid survey sites for Australians? Is it even possible to make good money?
Are there any good paid survey sites for Australians? Is it even possible to make good money?
I live in Australia and want to make some spare cash online, and paid surveys look pretty good, although they all seem to be for the US. I tried pretending to be an and American in my profile, but they might have known cause I didn't get many surveys, and some of the ones I got half way through said I was 'not elligable'... Can anyone help me out with some info on any way to make -good- cash online in Australia? Serious answers only thanks

Hi I use www.valuedopinions.com.au which is really good you are regularly sent surveys and are rewarded with vouchers. Also I use www.yourvoice.com.au, this is OK the rewards are really good although I am not sent many surveys but they are very reliable. If you use paypal and buy things online, www.ciaosurveys.com.au is OK, although getting your money can take some time. There are alot of dodgy websites out there and you should do research so you don't waste your time. Good Luck

really? I Just went on a p2p trip to Australia this summer! it was the BEST experience of my life! lol ok so to rasie money. first i would consider getting a job defenitly. It will help with some of the expences, saving up all till next may or so and working on minimum wage could get you at least 1 to 2 thousand dollars. second sell things. no joke i am doing that right now to go to europe next summer and it really works. come up with something unique or sell old stuff at craft fairs. *this one works WELL if you are commited* third try asking for sponsors. Go to local businesses and ask them to sponsor you. Tell them that if they sponsor you, when you come back from your trip you will show them pictures, how much you learned from the trip etc... (some sponors can donate 100 to 300 dollars) last is to ask! I am sure you have family members, neighbors, besicly almost anyone who is willing to donate 10 to 50 dollars to your trip or more! Ask a lot of people and you could be in business! :) I really hope these help! I hope you have a GREAT trip as i did! :) dont be afraid to ask me questions bout my experience.

Try finding a consignment shop willing to but from you or a friend that is good on craigs list or ebay to help you with an account then go to a cheap thrift store (my absolute favorite is goodwill) and try to find vintage things with labels, even if you think its ugly an Oscar De La Renta coat or Chanel top will get you far. Consider either getting it sent to a dry cleaners or ironing it to make it look nicer, then sell with a profit. GOOD LUCK!

First of all, I agree with Ginger - get a job. if you work right up till when you leave, you will earn quite a bit towards the cost. Even if you dont particularly like the job, the thought of the trip should keep you in there. A job provides security too, so you might be able to ask your parents/grandparents to loan you some of the money with the promise of repayment. Washing windows can earn you a lot of money. Print off a flyer, and go door knocking in a nice area with plenty of big houses (which will have lots of windows). If you do a good job, word will get around. In the same way, mowing lawns can be a good way to get some extra cash, and Babysitting is always an option. Also, I'm not sure if you have anything like this in America, but I know a lot of people who sell chocolates as a fundraiser, and they get to keep a proportion of the profit - this is particularly good if you are at school. So maybe you should look into this. Do you have rotary clubs or anything like that in America? Often people here that do trips like this are able to apply for a scholarship from a rotary club etc. The only condition is that you go and give them a presentation about your trip when you get back. Just google fundraising and hopefully you will come up with websites that support student fundraising, and you might be able to get some ideas from this - the only websites I get are Aussie, but hopefully you will find something helpful. And remember: Dont spend the money if you dont need the item :) Try these websites for ideas: http://ezinearticles.com/?Ways-to-Make-Money-Quickly,-Legally&id=226118 http://blogs.moneycentral.msn.com/smartspending/archive/2009/02/06/52-ways-to-make-extra-money.aspx

Get a job and work as many hours as you can, this not only means you earn a lot, but you also can't spend it if your always at work. If you already have a job look at getting a second job for a few months. Ask for money or things you will need for any birthdays/christmas presents between now and when you leave. Ask your parents or relatives if you can earn money around the house doing odd jobs.

No one is going to help fundraise just so you can go on a nice holiday no matter what the title of the program is. Work more hours or ebay all of your stuff.
