Traveling to Australia from US. Need advice on holiday work visa and getting jobs.?
I
am looking to travel to Australia in 2 months to travel and make some
money. Any advice from US on the visa process and finding the best
paying jobs? I hear pearl farming is lucrative...how do you go about
getting that? What's the best job their for a US backpacker trying to
make money and travel.

If
you want a working holiday visa, you need to apply for that BEFORE
going to Australia. You cannot just go to Australia and job just...no
way would you get a work visa. See site below.

the
idea of the work and travel visa is to get casual jobs to supplement
your travel,you will not make big money.Pearl farming is a very small
industry i doubt you will get anything like that.
As am american you can only ever get one work and holiday visa and it
last for 1 year and can not be extended

I think that
working as a bartender might me a good thing. You wouldn't have a lot of
friends there, I assume, so it would be a good opportunity to meet some
young people and have fun. Work hours are mostly night and evenings,
but it is pretty flexible. Check out this website for local bartending
jobs, I found my old job there.
