Is transferring money to take advantage of the exchange rate illegal?
I was thinking about a money making scheme but im not sure if its illegal. This is it- (I live in Australia) I make a foreign currency (USD) bank account and transfer a sum of money over to it. I gain (currently) 5c per dollar (AUSD). After the exchange (AUSD to USD) goes back down (if it does), I transfer the money to my AUSD bank account gaining on the exchange again. Is this illegal?

That is known as arbitrage...very legal and very risky...most of the wall streeters who are great at it have phd's in mathematics...

no. that's called currency trading. and its an important feature to make currency markets function with liquidity. though its generally extremely difficult to forecast currency rates with any kind of precision so....good luck.

Unlike stocks where everyone can win because companies make profits, the foreign exchange market is a zero sum game so for every winner there is a loser. Most of the people in the market are planing some future investment in a foreign currency and want to guaranty the the cost will not change because of exchange rates but some people use it to gamble.

money, me and my friend want money for australia day, australia day is in 8 days, how can we make money fast, when we arent aloud to cut our neighbours lawn and stuff

Without being dodgy i would suggest getting a loan from a friend as an IOU (I Owe You) amd returning the money afta Australia day otherwise you might want to start selling your belongings. Ask your parents for a loan its better.

Well, if I were you, I would just ask my parents or even my sister for money. That's pretty much the only thing to do if you can't do work around the neighborhood. shovel snow, babysit, ask for the future Culver's minimum hiring age is 14 with a workers permit. I called many stores because I am 14 looking for a job. This was the response they gave which makes me happy after looking for so long. Find a local one go online and apply and go in store to apply or call and ask if they are hiring. What I did was Google a bunch of business near my home and found their numbers using Google maps or their sites and I called and directly asked if they are hiring and what age do they hire at. Try local grocery stores, pizza parlors, retail stores, fast food restaurants.
