How to become a professional volleyball player in Melbourne, Australia?
I really want to become a pro volleyball player. Are there any clubs or teams around Melbourne? Maybe around Hoppers Crossing or Tarneit? Im young right now, and I'm curious about where I should start? Do they make a lot of money? (:

Volleyball Australia Australian Volleyball School Cup 05.-10.12.2010 (MSAC Melbourne) This is sorta a camp/team. They do make a lot of money. You could later play in the olympics. But you start, you need to take classes and learn the 2 year basics.

Why are we still continuing to fund wealthy private schools here in Australia when that money could be used to?

Why are we still continuing to fund wealthy private schools here in Australia when that money could be used to?
create world class public schools? why not cut the string to those schools and make the fees higher and ask them to pay without tax and public money? isn't it a bit snobby of those parents who children attend private schools? i hate the parents of private school children, they are so damn snobby and up themselves, if the public system was well resourced, why would they continue to send there children to private schools? snobs I say. I view parents who send their kids to private schools as those who think they are better and snobby, divisive and think their child deserves more than others, how fair is that? and they want to shelter them from the 60-70% who attend public schools, if you want to do that, use your entirely out of tax money to do that with, don't use public money, I also don't agree with the government giving money to private businesses, how snobby and elitist is that? please explain, no other country subsidies private schools the way we do, there's more equity in Canada, Japan and Finland? why not here?

Just how many parents of private school children do you know that you can justify statements such as "they are so damn snobby and up themselves" and "think they are better and snobby"? To say this about private school parents is extremely subjective and, dare I say, ignorant. The majority of parents who send their children to private schools do so with the hope that their children will get a better education and better chances in life. These parents are not rich, but they make huge sacrifices for their children's benefit. Don't forget a large proportion of the private schools in Australia are actually the Catholic schools and most of the parents who choose this form of education for their children are just ordinary working people who cannot afford to pay higher fees. Very few of these parents could be considered "snobby and up themselves". Only a minority of private schools in Australia can be considered elite. You seem to have a big grudge against private schools, so I'm wondering what you feel you missed out on in your public schools if you think that system is so good.

''i hate the parents of private school children, they are so damn snobby and up themselves, if the public system was well resourced, why would they continue to send there children to private schools? snobs I say.'' Honestly, it sounds like you're very bitter. I'm guessing you went to a public school and have never met the parents of any sort of private school child? Seriously, what is wrong with you? Parents have the right to send their children wherever they want. Ideally, every single parent would want to send their child to a private school, most just can't afford it. If you look at the system, you will see that private schools do much better academically and in many other areas compared to public schools. ''I view parents who send their kids to private schools as those who think they are better and snobby, divisive and think their child deserves more than others, how fair is that?'' Please explain how it is snobby for parents to want the right education for their child, and for their child to be brought up around the right people. They do not think ''my child deserves more than every other child'', they think that their child would be better being in a private school than a public one. Private schools are infinitely better than public schools. If you looked at where the BER money went, you'd see that most private schools managed it much better than most public schools. I really don't think your reasoning comes from wanting to conserve money, but from bitterness. I go to a private school, not because my parents are ''snobby'', but because 1) We're Catholics, and they wanted religion to be apart of my education and 2) The Catholic school here is far superior to the local State High School. No, I'm not being snobby, it's the truth. And I can tell that the people at my school are far more disciplined, polite and kind than the people at the local State High School. You might say I'm generalizing, but I've met most of the people from the local State High school in my year level and when compared to the people in my school, in large groups, I know that the people I'm with now are better. There are good kids at the public school, but they just as many bad kids as well. How do I know? Probably from the fact that there are several physical fights every day at their school and just the other day, a stabbing. Nothing like that has ever happened in my school. Parents want their children to be safe as well. How rude of you to call them snobs. You are honestly clueless. Grow up, and get over your jealousy and bitterness.

Goodness, get over it already! Your first few questions gave me something to think about, and I actually saved them into my favorites as I was interested to see others views, but seriously, you are now coming across as unstable and a tad disturbed. Broken record....flogging dead horse...unhealthy obsession....get the picture? If you have children, seriously, get out and take them to a park or something. I'm pretty sure all those snobs and elitists are out buying their kids new xbox 360 games or something, not obsessing over your narrow minded views of them for wanting the best for their kids. If you are bitter about suffering through a public school upbringing, deal with it like the rest of us commoners. (Or like 99% of us, don't even think about it). If you are bitter that your kids are the scum and not the cream in the education milkshake, scrounge every last penny and go without the luxuries like many of those "snobs" who do it tough to provide the best they can for their kids. Out of curiosity, when all the public schools are on par with the private schools, and those snobs DO stop sending their minime snobs to their private schools, and the public schools are then overrun how do we fix THAT problem? I mean, if public schools are already soooooo underfunded, how do they cope with all those private refugees? No problem, just get the parents to pay higher fees and essentially turn all those public schools private. We won't even touch the spiritual side of private schooling....

First, may I suggest that you go back to school, be it Public or Private and get a bit more of an education especially in the English language. On top of paying taxes, parents who send their kids to Private schools also pay school fees, etc. The subsidies available to them do not reimburse them completely. Can you imagine the chaos that would ensure if ALL Private schools were to close their doors, with all their students being forced into the Public sector. Why not move to Canada, Japan or Finland?

Your 'rant' has so many untruths! I for one went to a private school & my dad was a poor farmhand & certainly no snob.My older sister went to a Catholic boarding school & my granddaughters to a Catholic college. All are from working class families who put their children before their own needs.Don't be so quick to denigrate parents of such children. You are coming across like a real lefty who thinks wealthy people have no right to be.Suck it up princess.

THe good news is that parents of private school kids probably hate you. A mutually fulfilling relationship.
