a full professor with a masters or Phd. anyone know? do you think it would vary by subject, or anything like that?

Wouldn't usually vary by subject, though it is likely to vary between institution. A full professor at Sydney gets at least $142,030 (and can get more according to particular responsibilities etc.

To be made a professor you need to be appointed (you dont apply - you get asked). One of the pre-requs is to have brought in $$$$$$ in grants over a period of 15-20 years. Given that you generally dont get a grant until several years after a PhD, and then additional grants only if your first grant resulted in either $$$, papers or recognition, a Professor is usually over 45-55 on appointment. Oh and you need at least one PhD to be eligible.
